What is Pre-Screened? 
ServiceMagic.com uses the following criteria to pre-screen new professionals applying for membership in their nationwide network: 

1. Licensing - ServiceMagic contacts each state licensing agency or board in which the business operates to ensure that each new member meets the state requirements for licensing or registration. 

2. Bankruptcy - ServiceMagic contacts third party services that record bankruptcy information to verify that each new member has not filed for bankruptcy within the last seven years. 

3. Legal - ServiceMagic verifies that each new member has not had any judgments against them within the last three years by contacting third party services that record legal information. 

4. Insurance - Where possible, ServiceMagic will verify appropriate insurance coverage or bonding as required.
